Graduate
Student Research Awards
support students registered in a Doctoral research program focused on the
physical-biological or social aspects of intellectual impairment
including:
-
The
causes, treatment and eventual cure of intellectual impairment,
especially children affected by Autism and Down Syndrome.
-
The
causes, treatment and eventual cure of Alzheimer's Disease.
-
Early
identification and intervention in potentially disabling conditions
-
Minimizing
long-term disability and lessening the effects of the disability
-
Other
forms of intellectual impairment may be considered
Eligibility
-
Applications
are invited from candidates currently enrolled in a Doctoral Programme at a
Canadian University. Research may be carried out at a University, research
institute or health care agency.

Applicants
must be a Canadian citizen and a permanent resident of Canada.

Applications
must be endorsed by the Research Services Department or equivalent of
the sponsoring University.

Research
must be carried out within Canada.
The
value of each award is a maximum of $10,000/yr for a period of up to 2
years. The next deadline for receipt of applications is April 30, 2010.
When the deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, the next business day
will be considered the deadline date.
The
Graduate Student Award application package consists of the following
items: Application Form and Application Guide. The form has been designed
for Windows in Microsoft Word™ v2003 to allow you to complete it on your
computer. If you are unable to use the format provided, please download
the Adobe Acrobat™ PDF version to print the form. Please note that only
the 2010 version of the application forms will be accepted. All applicants
MUST
refer to the Application Guide when completing an application.
